Media & Advocacy Update

ESEA

ESEA and NYSEC’s media and public affairs efforts continue to generate meaningful results across New York State. Through our partnership with Marathon Strategies, the associations have secured a growing number of op-eds, letters to the editor, news stories, television coverage, and stakeholder engagement opportunities that are helping elevate our industry’s voice in important energy and environmental policy discussions.

Over the past several months, ESEA and NYSEC have worked with member companies, business leaders, local officials, agricultural interests, and other third-party voices to highlight the role renewable liquid fuels can play in advancing affordability, reliability, emissions reductions, and consumer choice. These efforts have generated coverage in publications and media outlets across the state, including The Journal News, Syracuse.com, Daily Freeman, Newsday, Times Union, Spectrum News, Politico, and many others.

Current outreach efforts are focused on recent state budget changes, emissions accounting reforms, biofuels adoption, workforce development, and New York’s evolving energy policies. Several additional interviews, television segments, and opinion pieces are currently in development.

Building awareness and educating policymakers, reporters, and the public is a long-term effort, but the momentum continues to grow. We encourage members to review the full update to see the breadth of activity taking place on behalf of our industry.
